Bay Ballet Academy Director & Main Dance Teacher
Maximo Califano is the founder artistic Director and main dance teacher of Bay Ballet Academy located in the district of Willow Glen in San Jose, CA. He is a former principal dancer in Ballet San Jose, serving the Bay Area audience. He graduated as a dancer from the prestigious Instituto Superior de Arte del Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, Argentina where he comes from and his career spans America, Europe, and Asia. He has performed for major national and international ballet companies and been featured in ballet magazines, newspapers, and on television shows.
Maximo Califano has more than 20 years of dancing and teaching experience. He has achieved the ABT’s National Training Curriculum in pre-ballet to professional levels, and graduated with honors at San Jose State University with a Creative Arts degree. Maximo believes that dance is a tool that can open the doors for creativity and innovation. These qualities can foster successful students and individuals and can help to achieve a better world.
Maximo’s unique dance credentials, vast performing experience, and extensive teaching expertise provide the best foundation for the education and formation of new dancers and artists in the Bay Area. Maximo is excited and passionate to embrace this new leading and educational stage in his career.
